The Croquet Club’s Novice Star tournament attracted many of their new players to join in for a bit of fun and competition. The Novice Star is open to all players who have been playing for under two years.

Congratulations to our Women’s Saturday Pennants 2 Orange team who achieved promotion to 1 Blue for next season. Unfortunately, they went down to South Perth in the final for the flag on Saturday, but a great season by you all!!

Congratulations to Kyle McIlroy and Shane Loftus on winning the Men’s Pairs Championship in an entertaining final under lights on Friday night against Mal Burton and Mick Martin.
McIlroy and Loftus got off to a great start to lead 7-0 until Burton and Martin won the next four ends to make the score 7-5. The following end saw Burton and Martin holding four shots and looking to take the lead until McIlroy trailed the jack to win the end.
This was the turning point in the game with McIlroy and Loftus going on to win the game in convincing fashion 15-6. It was the first Sorrento Championship win for both players.
Congratulations to the 2 Blue Men’s Thursday Pennant team of Andrew DeCinque, Trevor Orton, Bob Jeffs and Peter Robson who picked up an 8 badge against Nollamara yesterday.

The 2021 Australian Masters Games will take place in Perth from Saturday 9 – Saturday 16 October 2021 and includes both croquet and lawn bowls.
