Womens Dash 4 Cash

This very successful event was held in ideal conditions, although rain was predicted. We had a total of 36 teams = 144 players. All players were greeted on arrival and after the registering process was completed they were treated to a delicious morning tea organised by our members.

Teams participating were from as far South as Mandurah and Safety and East from Thornlie/Gosnells and North from Gin Gin and Yanchep and several teams within the radius.

The format was 4 games of 8 ends – two games played before lunch and 2 games after lunch which involved a change of green.

Players returned to the clubrooms after Round 2 for lunch, which was a variety of several delicious soups with a fresh bread rolled followed by a drumstick for dessert. Lunch was served with a smile by a team of male bowlers who did a great job and also did well with the cleaning up that followed. Special thanks to the Men’s Captain – Peter Flack for organising the team of helpers.

Our Vice Captain (Shona Carter) organized several raffles, which included a food hamper, wine raffle, money sheets and a bowls bag, kindly donated from Bowls World who had a pop-up shop which proved popular as always.

Fortunately, the weather held off and all rounds were completed in good sportsmanship. All the results were recorded and calculated by our valued Men’s Match Captain – Dan Greig – a big thank you for all his hard work on the day. His expertise, calm and diligent nature certainly made our Women’s Match Committees’ day a lot less stressful. Barry Bradshaw from Safeway Security Screens who was our sponsor was present at the end of the day to express his thanks to all on behalf of the Club. Generous prize money was presented to the Winning Team from North Beach, Runner Ups from Bayswater and 3 Place from Morley. There were also prizes for each round winner as well as a morning and afternoon winners.
